Abstract
This paper is concerned with the boundary-domain element method applied to bending vibration analysis of thin elastic plates. The resulting integral equations are discretized by means of the boundary-domain element method using quadratic boundary elements and domain elements. Numerical analysis is carried out for some of examples, and the computational results obtained are discussed in detail, whereby its usefulness is demonstrated. It is revealed that the proposed method can be equally applied to the problem with internal supports. 1 Introduction It is very important in structural engineering to develop a reliable computational method of analysis to simulate exactly and effectively the behavior of mechanical structures,
