Abstract
A numerical simulation of an experimental test, carried out on a light alloy plate with circular steel inclusions, is performed by using the Boundary Element Method (B.E.M.). Because of the supposed frictionless unilateral contact between plate and inclusions, the numerical solutions are obtained by using some known boundary variational formulations reported in the technical literature. A simple identification procedure is applied to determine an unknown parameter of the model. 1 Introduction In recent years a lot of interest has been devoted to the mathematical formulations of structural problems involving unilateral constraints. An important class of these problems concerns the fr
