Abstract
Practical experience and educational training in pollution prevention (P^) engineering are becoming more important in light of local and national requirements in the United States. For example, some generators of hazardous waste are now required to have a documented program to "reduce the volume and toxicity of waste generated to the degree they have determined to be economically practical." (40 C.F.R.[1]) Many small to mid-size companies have limited expertise in developing the required pollution prevention programs and outside consulting services available can be costly. Sometimes, these consultants may also suffer from the same limited experience in pollution prevention engineering. The need for educational training in pollu
