Abstract
One of the deepest diaphragm wall structures built in soft clay, 62.5m deep below Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT), is designed to be used in the Port-Said East Harbor. The Quay wall platform having 35 m width and 1200 m long, is supported on series of four barrettes spaced 7m in the longitudinal direction. The four barrettes are connected in the transverse direction by 3x0.8 m top beam. Each barrette is having 3xlm cross-section and extended 60m below sea level. The front barrette is a T-section extended to 34.5m below LAT level, forming a part of the front wall The designed dredging level in front of the Quay wall is 18m below sea level. The finite element/finite difference program FLAG 3D is used to analyze the soil-structur
