Veloso da Veiga* o Department of Civil Engineering, * Mathematics Department, University of Minho, 4?19> Braga Codex, Portugal ABSTRACT The ground water pollution problem is being solved in most cases by finite difference methods and in other cases by finite element methods. The DRM is now applied to such problem. The governing differential equation (transport equation) including convection terms and sources or sinks are stated together with boundary conditions. For easier adaptation of the programs published by Partridge, Brebblia and Wrobel (1992) and to get rid of singularities, the sources (or sinks) are substituted by a source strength across a small internal boundary. The first application refers to the unidirectional flow with prescribed concentration on one boundary and zero-dispersive-flux on the other boundaries. The results compare
