Abstract

The hybrid boundary element method applied to time-dependent problems N.A. The interpolation function used to represent the kinematical field corresponds to the fundamental solution of the stress field, taken independently of time. Two examples are shown, for both problems of potential and elasticity, to attest the correctness of the method. 1. INTRODUCTION As previous works have demonstrated, the concepts introduced by Pi an for finite elements may be successfully generalized in terms of boundary integral equations, yielding a variationally consistent formulation [2, 3,4]. The present paper applies the methodolo
