Abstract
Effect of an inclusion on the interaction of plane shear wave with a crack J.-C. Sung, D.-C. Wong Department of Civil Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan 70101, Peoples Republic of China ABSTRACT The problem of scattering of time-harmonic plane shear wave by a configuration of a crack and an adjacent inclusion embedded in a 2-D infinite elastic medium is investigated by the traction boundary integral equation (TRIE) method. The result of the formulation is a system of six coupled singular integral equations for the unknown displacement jumps across the crack as well as for the displacement and traction components on the interface boundary between the inclusion and elastic medium. A simple regularization method is used to regularize the hypersingular arisen in the TBIE. Numerical results for elastodynamic stress intensity factors have been obtained for several geometrical configurations, where the influence of the angle of incidence of plane shear waves,
