Abstract
A strategy is proposed to enhance the performance of several numerical methods used in the solution of electromagnetic problems. The approach is general and can be extended to all computational methods based on a domain decomposition into elementary particles, on their numbering and on the solution of a consequent linear system of equations. Among the others, finite-difference methods, Mode- Matching methods for microwave circuit analysis and finite-element methods are the ones studied in the paper. Two different implementations of the strategy are compared. One of them is completely new and a parallel implementation is also presented for it.
