Abstract
The aim of this work is to present the general architecture, the main func- tions and the experimental validation of a system for the design of filament wound composites, where the technological optimization tool, the software "ARIANNA", is integrated with a structural analysis tool, an experience data-base and a data acquisition system. The filament winding simulation software is based on theoretical studies, concerning the non-geodesic fibers path stability on non-axisymmetrical surfaces, carried out at the Italian Center for Aerospace Research (CIRA) in the past years, while the inte- grated system was developed under a cooperation between CIRA and BPD Defence & Space. 1.
