Abstract
A computer aided design (C.A.D.) tool is presented here. Specifying a geometrical description (Bonnel %), TIS3D software allows to rebuild both simple or sophisticated textile structures. It also aims to a pre-processing work for a subsequent mechanical analysis. Fabrics unit cells fabrics (fibres+matrix) are regarded as a three-dimensional aggregate of subcells on which we apply stress-strain laws. The first elements to validate the method are provided by the comparison between experimental and analytical results obtained on a woven fabric material. 1 Introduction The potentialities of woven, non-woven, knitted or braided fabrics used as reinforcements for polymer matrix composite materials increase. From now their exploit
