Abstract
A new simulation program oriented to the design of complex biological processes for wastewater treatment J. Suescun, A. Rivas, E. Ayesa & L. Larrea Department of Environmental Engineering, CEIT, P°Manuel Lardizabal, 15, 20009 San Sebastian, Spain ABSTRACT This program is oriented to simplify and improve the design of complex biological processes for wastewater treatment. Therefore, it contains three main modules. The design module (CAD): for the fast and easy design of complex plants. The simulation module (SIM): to study the dynamic response of the plant and steady state module (STATIONARY): for the fast calculation of the steady state point of the plant. The programming tools used are described. INTRODUCTION The new requeriments for the elimination of nutrients has meant that the biological processes used are more and more complex. The design of activated sludge processes has normally been based on empirical equation from practical experience. Nevertheless th
