Abstract
Simulation model for forecasting anoxic crisis in lagoons F. Cioffi, A. Di Eugenic & F. Gallerano Department of Idraulica, Transporti e Strade, Universitd 00184 Rome, Italy Abstract In the paper a model is described which allows the simulation of the phenomena, in the warm season, leading to anoxia in lagoon water. The proposed model simulates both the hydrodynamic fields in lagoons due to external influences such as wind or inflows by tidal channels, and concentration fields (in the water column and sediment) of the chemical, physical and biological species significant in the description of the phenomena responsible for anoxia in water. In the paper a procedure is also suggested for a practical individuation of the dynamic equilibrium conditions of the lagoon typical of warm seasons.
