Abstract
The dispersion of passive releases from the roof top of cylindrical and cubic buildings submerged in both neutral and moderately stable simulated atmo- spheric boundary layers has been investigated experimentally. All buildings are initially considered in isolation. In addition, the cylindrical and cubic buildings are investigated in conjunction with several encompassing square bunds (walls) ranging from 10 to 50% of the building height, all of con- stant volume. Further the effect of a 2D fence of height 25% of the building height was investigated for several positions both up and downstream of the building and source. Results will be presented for both mean ground level and elevated concentrations as well as mean velocity field data. The effect on the flow field and dispersion of the encompa
