Abstract

In order to estimate the impacts of air pollution on ecosystems, modeling studies of concentration and deposition of air pollutants for the whole year are needed. Air quality for summer conditions (clear sky) in Switzerland has already been modelled using the Urban Airshed Model (UAM) and compared with measurements. In this work, the model is applied to winter conditions (covered sky, modified meteorological and boundary conditions) and the results are compared with measurements. A dry period in January 1998 is chosen for the calculations. The applicability of the photochemical model for other seasons than summer is discussed. Some calculations of future scenarios are also carried out. A base case for the year 2030 is calculated for a summer and winter day separately and the re
