Abstract
During 1978-1981, sources and atmospheric dispersion of antimony at a simple antimony smelter have been investigated by a multidisciplinary R&D team. Results of this research are still relevant when analysing the 1996-1997 ambient airborne lead concentrations measured at 8 monitoring sites near a large non- ferrous metals industrial plant. The analysis starts with the calculation of the expected ambient airborne lead concentrations due to the registered emissions through the stacks of the lead works using the atmospheric transport and dispersion model IFDM. The difference between measured and calculated Pb- concentrations is, according to the conclusions of the research around the antimony smelter, due to uncontrolled emissions. T
