Abstract
Analysis in frequency domain of pressure fluctuations over sills in stilling basins D. Berzi, E. Larcan. & E. Orsi D.I.I.A.R. Politecnico di Milano, Italy Abstract As described in previous papers, the authors have carried out a number of experiments both in the laboratory and in the field investigating problems related to pressure fluctuations. In order to obtain further information on the flow field around the obstacle, data are plotted in the frequency domain, drawing spectra. Spectra have been normalized by employing local scale quantities. The comparisons between spectra show that thls normalization appears satisfactory and allows analysis of the influences of the different non-dimensional parameters on the distribution of turbulent energy. Nevertheless, normalized spectra related to laboratory experiments are a little different from those related to field ones. Some considerations are made about possible explanations for this difference and on the similarities present in this phenomenon.
