Abstract
An integral calculation method for train movement M. Asuka & K. Komaya Industrial Electronics and Systems Laboratory, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan Abstract For train simulations, there is a train movement model to simulate the real train movements and a calculation method to perform the model on computers. On one hand, the model has been thoroughly studied and well-established. On the other hand, however, no attempt to investigate performance of the calculation method has been made. In this paper, a conventional calculation method for train movements is surveyed and a new approach, integral calculation method, is proposed. Then, these methods are compared in terms of accuracy and the number of calculations to simulate. 1 Introduction For train simulations, there is a model that describes movements of a train by using a dynamic equation in which train states are expressed by three variables, i.e., velocity, position and time [1]. By using the model, a conventional method
