Abstract
An interaction model for passenger and freight traffic on a single-track railway MJelaska LA.P. - Institute forProcess Automation, Ljubljana, Slovenia Abstract In the case study a single-track line with mixed passenger and freight traffic is discussed. The observed experiment is designed with a definite number of randomly generated versions of timetables and looks for those with the best results. Based on these best versions of timetable a representative coefficient for freight train elimination is introduced. This model is an upgrade, which uses outputs from the basic model of a single-track line capacity. The upgraded model is linked towards the train movement simulation, timetable elaboration by freight train elimination and economic evaluation. The observed line has a considerable demand for freight transport. Due to changes at the transport market, passengers' requests, and competition of the motorway road network a request for the introduction of passenger tra
