Abstract
Process optimisation in the engineering of safety-systems J. van Sprakelaar, G. A. Fries & F. van Dijk Holland Railconsult, Rail Traffic Systems, The Netherlands Abstract To safeguard yards in the Dutch rail infrastructure more and more electronic interlocking systems are used. These systems have to be supplied with location specific data. Because of the increasing need for these types of installations and their data, shortness in engineering capacity arises. Optimisation of the engineering process and the design of automated tooling to support the engineers resolves this shortness. One of the processes, in which design automation is used, is in the field of logic safety test. For both generation of test vectors and the execution of the tests, a new generation of automated tools was developed, based on a database that contains all relevant information of the infrastructure in a complete and consistent way. These tools will realise a considerable reduction in test
