Abstract
Monitoring data of the organic toxic species for both particulate and vapor phases in the ambient air of Macau during 20-24 November 1995 are presented and compared with these of Hong Kong and Guangzhou. It is found that the distribution profiles of VOC and particulate PAH species in ambient air samples show a similarity, indicating common sources to each sampling site of Macau. The major source is identified to be vehicular exhaustion by examining characteristics of these profiles. The n-alkane scanning spectra of the samples identify a biogenous and natural source in the relatively clean areas. Only difference among the sites is on the pollution level which shows that heavily traffic > roof level > relatively clean areas. The organic toxic air pollution of HongKong and Guangzhou follows the similar distribution profil
