Abstract
The design and revamping of a metrorail transit system needs a fast and flexible simulation tool which allows the electrical plant to be sized thus avoiding heavy oversizing. In complex power supply systems, such as 25 kV AC systems or metro systems with a large number of junctions, a similar tool is particularly useful. The main features of this tool must be: modularity, flexibility and electromechanical integration. In this paper, the tool code structure is described and some comparative examples are presented. 1. Introduction The authors have developed MOTORS [1], MOdular Traffic Object Railway Simulator, a program running on a standard MS-DOS personal computer supporting Windows graphic interface, a tool conceived as an aid to the design and verification of guided electrified transport systems. Its main characteristics are essen
