Abstract
In the Netherlands large parts of the railway infrastructure are being re- constructed. Since the planning of construction projects needs to be done well in advance, systems need to be developed to specify and analyze in- frastructure projects in a way that is consistent with the uncertainties that come with a long planning time. In this paper we discuss the development of such system that focusses on the reconstruction of railway stations. 1 Introduction To anticipate an increase in the number of people traveling by rail in the next century a major railway investment program called Rail 21 has been carried out in the Netherlands.
