Abstract
This paper describes an overview of simulation studies for saving energy in DC railway systems Firstly, the need of simulating railway operations is reviewed. Secondly the recently proposed methods for saving energy are reviewed. Thirdly, simulations ot a total railway system and their results are described. Lastly, influences of 5 elementary parameters to the energy saving in the total railway system and future a el subjects are reviewed. 1. Introduction , , • f Most of the studies of energy saving up to now have been made on the basis ot hardware equipment and individual subsystems. Today DC electric railways are furnished wi
