There are no special requirements for objective and constraint functions. The presented ortho-diagonal method of optimization is very effective, especially in the case of complicated objective functions. The performance of the ortho-diagonal method is shown on an example of the double-layer space truss design. Minimization of mass and elastic energy of structure as well as producibility function of structure are taken as optimization criteria
