Abstract

Topological structural optimization under dynamic loads H.G. Natke*, T.T. A subsystem decomposition procedure is used in which the subsystems are represented by operators defined on subdomains of the entire domain with respect to the total structural system to be designed. Topological changes are thus affected by inclusion or exclusion of some of these subsystems. The topology of the structure is then optimized by eliminating subsystems with negligible contributions to the structure's serviceability combined with its necessary performance and safety requirements. In transforming dynamic inequality constraints into static constraints in terms of eigenproperties of the struc
