Abstract
The paper presents a first summary of the work carried out by the authors on trip generation behavioural analysis. It is divided into two main sections. One concerns behavioural analysis in generation choice with particular reference to the modelling. The advantages and limits of the application of behavioural models to generation are described and the activity-based approach is examined in the light of its potential for better expression and modelling. The second section reports on the first results of a pilot survey with activity diaries carried out on a limited student sample from the University of Cagliari. A few remarks are made on the interrelations among student behaviour, location of the University and related activities and the characteristics of the trips generated. 1 Introduction The generation of mobility especially
