Abstract
The traffic related analysis of the electrical behaviour of a metrorail transit system may be today successfully performed thanks to integrated system simulators able to solve the network electrical equations taking into account the movement of the scheduled trains. The correctness of the simulation results are strictly connected with the implemented models, as far as, particularly, on-board electrical drives are concerned. In this paper the authors present different vehicle macromodels, to be utilized for system analysis, and related to both chopper and inverter fed electrical drives. The results of simulations performed by SISTEC, the integrated system simulation software developed by the authors, are then presented and discussed. 1 Introduction During
