Abstract
In the paper it is described the conservation of the medieval portal of the Lagopesole castle chapel, in the south of Italy. With a correct methodology of restoration, after a diagnostic aids, it has been possible to choose the minimum operation to slacken the natural deterioration that every outdoor handmade stone are subjected. 1 Introduction In the restoration of masonry materials, as in the architectural and artistic one, it is very important to use a correct methodological approach.
