Abstract
This paper describes measurements carried out in the XVth century Palacio de Sta. Cruz, in order to investigate the behaviour of the structure under road traffic induced vibrations. This work is part of the urban pilot project of Valladolid called "Scientific research and heritage restoration", cofmanced by the European Community (Feder), Valladolid Council and Castilla y Leon Regional Government. The objectives of this study are: To develop and to set up new techniques for the measurement of vibration levels in historic buildings and their surroundings, to study the transmission of traffic induced vibrations from the road up to the building and to analyse the dynamic behaviour of some construction elements by means of a finite elements method. Vibration data were collected at dif
