Abstract
The church of Convento do Carmo, located in the heart of Lisbon at the top of a steep hill, collapsed with the violent earthquake which stroke Lisbon in the year of 1755. The reconstruction of the church was never finished, but the inside piers and the outside walls were rebuilt, and perpetuate today the memory of this magnificent structure in the history of our city and in the minds of our people. Through numerical analysis, supported by historical data that has reached our days, a model of the church as it was before the earthquake was built.
