Abstract
Comparison of noise calculation models P. van Rangelrooij, J. Witte, M.A. Ouwerkerk DGMR Consulting Engineers, Eisenhowerlaan 112, 2517 KM The Hague, The Netherlands SUMMARY Three models (IL-HR-13-01, ISO 9613, VDI 2720) for calculating industrial noise have been compared on the ground and barrier attenuation and the long term meteorological correction. Although they are based on the same principals the outcome varies with 6 dB in the discussed cases. The main difference is the neglect of the ground attenuation in ISO and VDI in case of a screen between source and receiver. Furthermore the long term meteorological effects may result in a 3 dB difference. INTRODUCTION From 1970 till 1980 there has been an investigation in The Netherlands about the noise emission of industrial sites. In 1981 this has lead to the "Guide for measuring and calculating industrial noise, IL-HR-13-01". From that moment onwards, requests for a Nuisance Act in The Nether- lands, had to follow th
