Abstract
The present paper describes a computational code, referred to by the authors as ECHOTEST, designed to assist in the calculation and simulation of noise levels on industrial premises. It is based on ray-tracing techniques, and has been successfully applied to the study of the acoustical environment in a mechanical workshop. Included in the paper are the results of this application, along with their validation both mathematical and empirical. 1 Introduction Over recent years there have appeared on the market various computational codes, such as RAYNOISE and NOISEMAP, that predict final noise levels as a function of machine positions, distribution o
