Abstract
The vertically integrated conservation equations for momentum and mass are solved for a computational domain that considers the changes in bathymetry due to the longshore sediment transport in the nearshore environment. The model considers the driving forces due to the radiation stress field established by an integrated wave transformation model that includes both refraction and diffraction. For the sediment transport, an energetic approach is implemented that allows various formulations to be tested against field data. The changes in bathymetry are allowed for through local changes in porosity factors that affect both computational cell areas and volume. The solution algorithm used is the SIMPLEST and the iterative method
