Abstract
An approach for the management of product assurance data in large multi-national projects R.D. Hunt Spur Electron Ltd, Asgard House, Hay ward Business Centre, New Lane, Havant, Hampshire POO 2NL, UK I INTRODUCTION The development of complex systems required to be man tended and operate in hostile environments requires a high level of demonstrated quality and safety. This requires the generation of quality assurance and safety analysis data both for the developer and for the customer. When these systems are large and are developed by a consortium, information management problems arise which often have lead to: Significant increase in overhead labour costs to establish and maintain the quality record. Lack of visibility allowing design errors adversely affecting Reliability, Maintainability and Safety. This paper identifies the major issues in the management of the required data.
