Mecanica, C.P. 593, 38400 Uberldndia, MG, Brazil ABSTRACT This paper presents a 2-D model for the fusion of PCM in the annulus between two concentric cylinders where the inner one for fluid flow while the external one to contain the PCM. In the model the equations of mass conservation momentum and energy were formulated in terms of the vorticity and stream functions to rendem the equations amenable to numerical work. The predictions from the present model are compared under the same conditions with numerical and experimental data due to Sparrow and Kalhori respectivelly.
