Abstract
Study of coherent structures in a wall-jet M.F. Scibilia", P. Sierputowski\ J. Wojciechowski^ France ^ Warsaw University of Technology, Poland ABSTRACT The experimental investigations of a two-dimensional wall jet together with linear stability calculations were carried out. The observations of large scale, flow structures and their characteristics have been a center of interest. The occurrence of various coherent structures in a form of organized motion was the result of acoustic excitation realized in the range of natural frequencies. The analysis of experimental results in connection with the theoretical calculations bring the possibility of detailed study of transition in case of the wall jet. 1. INTRODUCTION Although the general knowledge of transition mechanism from laminar to turbulent flow has improved radically in the recent years, looking from the side of structures accompying, the lack of informations describing their dynamics, is still visible.
