Preliminary results of a full numerical simulation of the experiment are presenred, using the finite-volume FLOW3D code. INTRODUCTION For many internal flow situations the effect of buoyancy is to cause significant modifications of the internal flow field and heat transfer rate. In horizontal duct flows, the buoyancy forces act orthogonally to the main flow direction, giving rise to secondary circulations over the duct section. The resulting flow and temperature fields are very complex and three-dimensio
