Abstract
This paper presents analytical and BEM solutions for transient heat transfer by conduction and convection in the vicinity of cylindrical circular inclusions. Different conditions are prescribed for modeling inclusions with null fluxes or temperatures along the boundary, and with elastic inclusions embedded in an unbounded homogeneous medium. In the different formulations developed, the convection is radial. The solution is computed in the frequency domain for a wide range of frequencies and axial wavenumbers, and time series are then obtained by means of (fast) inverse Fourier transforms into space-time. The Green’s functions in the frequency domain, which are to be used in the BEM model, were validated against time solutions. The BEM models are then validated using the analytical solutions given
