Abstract
The plate analysis is carried out using the frequency domain solution in the direct boundary integral equation (DBIE) for the Mindlin’s model. The field decomposition is considered to decouple the irrotational part of the rotation field and it is applied to the constitutive equations as to the fundamental solution. When the rotatory inertia and the shear deformation effects are disregarded a DBIE for the classical bending model is obtained analogous to that used in static analyses with an additional degree of freedom for the tangential boundary rotation. The frequency response is considered to map the plate behavior to identify the first natural frequency. The results are compared to available solutions in the literature considering the three-dimensional elasticity theory, the Mindlin and the classical bending models. 1 Introduction T
