Abstract
This paper discusses the results of a survey of 39 organisations, of various sizes and of various types, on the use of project management methodologies for IT Projects. The use of standard methodologies, such as Prince, is considered in relation to the size and type of the organisation. The use of different methods for projects of various sizes is also considered. The characteristics of organisations making limited use of project management methodologies and the problems that have arisen in these organisations, is also considered.
