Abstract
Teaching software development to novices has long been recognised as problematical. Difficulties arise in a number of areas which traditional teaching techniques try to address as they occur. This approach however is often time consuming and labour intensive. In an effort to overcome this, the Multimedia research group at Nene College are developing a suite of packages to help students through the early stages of software development. Starting from the premise that good multimedia should be both challenging and entertaining - this paper describes the structure and make up of the resulting multimedia.
