Abstract
A coupling approach between visualization tools and building energy analysis J.M.S. Dionisio ZGDV - Zentrum fur Graphische Datenverarbeitung, Wilhelminenstr. 7, D-6100 Darmstadt, Germany ABSTRACT In the present paper an interactive simulation environment for integrated energy analysis in buildings is described. Supported by a database structure, main goals of STEPHANIE are the integration of calculation models and CAD systems, particularly related with thermal comfort analysis. Basic concepts and features that allow the calculation model to be built up from geometrical data with minimum additional user input are outlined. Special highlights are modularity and integration of the above mentioned environments using a common interactive Motif-based interface. INTRODUCTION The increasing concern about the quality of the indoor environmental conditions, the dual thermal comfort versus capital minimisation and future running costs lead researchers to develop a wide s
