Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to describe the authors experience in using SASD methodology as a system analysis and structured tool in the software development process. The comments made and the suggestions provided for improvement were based on direct observation of applying the methodology by final-year students of computer science. The authors supervised several team projects and attempted to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of the methodology. Being machine and language independent and having well-defined symbols, notations and tools, SASD seems to be a powerful methodology.
