Abstract
Participate material is generally composed of particles, pore water and pore gas. It means that participate material is three-phases' material. In this paper the heat transfer in soil is studied based on the thermal and mechanical consideration on the particle scale and then a simple numerical model is proposed, whose method is much different from the current continuum mechanics. Some numerical experiment is also carried out to simulate two-dimensional heat conduction and convection in the particulate material. 1 Introduction Particulate materials such as soil are generally composed of particles, pore water and pore gas, which means that particulate materials are three-phases' materials. The mechanical and thermal behaviors of these materials are more complicated to be analyzed than
