Abstract
Laminar mixed convection flow in the entrance region of uniformly heated inclined circular tubes J. OrG," N. Galanis" & C.T. Nguyen^ "Departement de genie mecanique, Universite de ^Ecole de genie, Universite de Moncton, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, ElA 3E9 ABSTRACT The effect of natural convection on the developing laminar flow in uniformly heated inclined tubes has been investigated. Results for air flowing in 60° inclined tube with Gr = 10* show that the flow and thermal field are not axisymmetrical and are drastically different from those for pure forced convection. The phenomenon of bifurcation has also been studied for the fully-developed flow. Dual solutions showing"two vortices" and "four vortices" flow structures as well as the flow regime map as a function of the tube inclination are presented.
