Abstract
Thermo-hydraulic flow situations in short narrow channels are studied. Nu- merically obtained results are compared with experimental ones. Nusselt number correlations are developed for velocity and temperature non-developed profiles. Results for heat transfer coefficients are used as boundary condi- tions for temperature distribution computations in an oil-air cooling engine cylinder. Introduction Owing to the vicinity of the exhaust channel, shape of the engine cylinder cooling surfaces, there is a pronounced asymmetric circumferential tem- perature distribution in the cylinder wall. This temperature ovalty can be minimized by controled intensity of the local cooling. A curved square cross section channel supplied with lubrication engine oil was introd
