Abstract
Mixed convection in open-ended inclined channels with discrete isothermal heating and containing baffles A. Raji, M. Hasnaoui & Z. Zrikem Faculty of Sciences Semlalia, Cadi Ayyad University, B.P. S-15 Marrakesh, Morocco ABSTRACT A numerical study has been carried out for laminar flow in an inclined ended-channel subject, at the entrance, to an imposed flow. The channel is periodically heated from below with discrete heating sources and cooled from above. The effects of the imposed flow, the intensity of heating, the inclination angle and the relative lengths of the heated surfaces on the fluid flow and heat transfer are analyzed. INTRODUCTION Mixed convection flow along inclined channels is encountered in a wide va- riety of heat transfer equipment and environmental situations. Hence, a number of studies concerning the mixed convection phenomenon in finite open channels have been reported in order to investigate the heat trans- fer and fluid flow in such geometrie
