Abstract
TaswapW - a software package for planar waveguide arrays N. C. Albertsen & P. E. Frandsen TICRA Fond Abstract The design of slotted waveguide array antennas comprises a number of optimisation processes. First the slot excitation pattern must be selected to give the specified pattern properties. Next the geometry of the slots must be determined such that the required excitations are achieved. The talk will briefly summarise the electromagnetic models developed for the package, but will mainly discuss the man-machine interaction principles implemented in the package. 1 Introduction Even with the best available software, the design process still requires a lot of human skill, so the purpose of the software package is not to replace the skilled antenna engineer, but to provide a tool with capabilities that blend seamlessly with the skills of an experienced antenna engineer to accelerate the learning curve leading to the final design. To achieve this, the package consists of a graphical front end,
