Abstract

A new rheological model for polymeric composite matrices has been proposed. A mechanic model of a polymeric material consists of four elements connected in series, formulated by Hooke, Wilczyhski, Kelvin and Newton. Constitutive equations of rheology for the model have been formulated, both in coupled and uncoupled form. A method for identification of the material constants, based on experimental creep of tension samples, has been developed and computerised. Introductory experiments on samples made of a polyester resin have confirmed adequacy of the model. A rheological model of polymeric matrices has been incorporated into a linear model of a unidirectional fibrous polymeric composite, composed of a visoelastic isotro
