Abstract
General law heat transfer of thermodependent non-Newtonian fluid K. Kahine, V.T. Nguyen, N. Lebouche LEMTA - CNRS URA 875, Universite Henri Poincare Nancy 1, 2 Avenue de la Foret de Haye, 54504 Vandoeuvre les Nancy, France ABSTRACT A laminar flow of an incompressible pseudoplastic fluid with temperature dependent viscosity is considered. The wall boundary chosen is the case involving uniform heat flux density or constant wall temperature The purpose of the present study is to investigate the effects of thermodependence and behaviour index on heat transfer and to propose a general correlation which yields the local Nusselt number as a function of the Cameron number and a dimensionless quantity which characterizes the thermodependence. Basic system of equations governing this problem are solved by a finite difference scheme. The viscous dissipation is taken into account. It is observed that the Nusselt number increases when heat flux density or wall temperature augments. The effects of b
